Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ThinkBuddy, an AI learning companion for children. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Who Can Use ThinkBuddy

ThinkBuddy accounts are created and managed by parents or legal guardians (“Parents”). You must be at least 18 years old to create a parent account.

Children use ThinkBuddy through child accounts created by their parent or guardian. By creating a child account, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of that child and that you consent to their use of the service as described in our Privacy Policy.

2. Parent Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for all activity under your family account, including your children's use.
  • You must keep your account credentials secure and not share them with anyone outside your family.
  • You are responsible for ensuring your children use ThinkBuddy appropriately and in accordance with these Terms.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account.

3. Acceptable Use

ThinkBuddy is intended for educational use. You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to circumvent the AI's content guardrails
  • Share, publish, or redistribute conversation content in a way that could harm a child's privacy
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or otherwise extract data from the service
  • Use the service to generate content unrelated to education

4. Subscriptions and Payment

  • Paid plans are billed monthly. Prices are shown at checkout and on the pricing page.
  • You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time from your parent dashboard under Settings › Billing.
  • Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access until then.
  • Refunds are issued at our discretion. Contact us at [email protected] if you believe a charge was made in error.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

ThinkBuddy complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We collect limited data from children solely to provide the learning experience, and only with verified parental consent obtained during onboarding.

As a parent, you have the right to review, export, or request deletion of your child's data at any time. See our Privacy Policy for full details on what we collect and your rights.

6. AI-Generated Content

ThinkBuddy uses AI to generate educational responses. While we apply content guardrails to keep conversations appropriate and on-topic, AI is not perfect. We encourage parents to review their children's conversations regularly using the parent dashboard.

ThinkBuddy is a learning companion, not a replacement for qualified tutors, teachers, or educational professionals.

7. Termination

You may close your account at any time from your parent dashboard. Upon closure, your family's data will be deleted within 30 days.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

ThinkBuddy is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI responses will always be accurate. Use of the service is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ThinkBuddy and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by displaying a notice in your dashboard. Continued use of ThinkBuddy after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
